    Echo Park is one of the oldest neighborhoods of Los Angeles.  It is located about two miles northwest of downtown.  Echo Park is an incredibly diverse and culturally rich neighborhood.  The artist captured the lake which sits in the midst of the park.  The lotus are normal in the lake around the month of July.  There are several Palm Trees in the painting and skyscrapers that reflect the Los Angeles  area.
